Writing (selling) options carries even greater risk. When you sell a naked call option, you're obligated to deliver the shares if the buyer exercises — and if the stock price has skyrocketed, your losses are theoretically unlimited. If the price of the underlying asset reaches this level, the turbo is immediately terminated and becomes worthless (or nearly worthless). Turbos offer leverage without requiring a margin account. A turbo long on a stock with 5x leverage will rise approximately 5% when the stock rises 1%. The search volume for "turbo" in investing contexts is enormous, which reflects how heavily European brokers market these products.
